What happens when youth culture, inclusion, and skill development come together around the same table?

For EvolveHub and the Norwegian Esports Federation, the answer lies in building sustainable platforms where gaming is not just entertainment—but a path to community, mastery, and future opportunities.

The parties are now joining forces in a new partnership in which EvolveHub will serve as the sustainability partner for the Norwegian Esports Federation.

The goal is to strengthen efforts in the following areas:

  • Inclusion of young people who are excluded from traditional settings
  • Development of Safe Digital and Physical Meeting Places
  • The Connection Between Gaming, Learning, and the Workplace
  • Long-Term Sustainability in Norwegian Esports and Gaming Culture

This collaboration stems from a shared understanding:
Gaming communities are no longer a niche. They are one of the most important social arenas for young people today.

Over the past year, EvolveHub has been working to develop alternative learning environments for municipalities, schools, NAV, nonprofit organizations, and the business community. This work is now being more closely integrated with organized esports in Norway.

“We see that gaming can be a gateway to a sense of belonging, responsibility, skills, and new opportunities. Many young people develop strong skills through gaming long before society is able to put them into words,” says Alex Hole, educational director at EvolveHub.

For Ole Jørstad, president of the Norwegian Esports Federation, the partnership is also about further developing esports as a social arena—not just a competitive one.

“If Norwegian esports is to grow in a sustainable way, we must also build communities that look out for people. To do that, we need partners who understand youth culture, digital communities, and how to create safe environments for growth,” says Jørstad.

Among other things, the collaboration will explore:

  • New Meeting Places for Youth
  • Skill Development Through Gaming
  • Social Sustainability in Esports Communities
  • Collaboration between the nonprofit sector, the public sector, and the business community
  • Development of Models for Inclusion and Alternative Education

Both stakeholders point out that the societal challenges of the future cannot be solved in silos.

That's why this partnership is just as much about people as it is about gaming.

And perhaps that is precisely why gaming has become one of the most important areas to understand right now.
